I reserched your law. This is the closest I have found.

Article 1, Section 8

to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

By contrast, excises are taxes on events. A realization of income (such as a receipt of wages) is an event. A sale is an event. A transfer of title by gift is an event. A transfer of title because of death is an event. Income taxes, sales taxes, and transfer taxes are all examples of event taxes. When a person receives money as income, it is not the ownership or state of title of the money itself that is taxed, but rather the fact that an income event has occurred. If the recipient takes the money and puts it under his or her bed for ten years, the income tax is not re-imposed on that money every year the money is under the bed. Only one thing is taxed by the income tax: the income event.

No, Chuck...not quite---

There are two types of taxes: direct and indirect.

Excise taxes are taxes on privileges; an excise tax is often called a "privilege tax". For example, there is an excise tax on money from the sale of alcohol because it is a privilege to sell it---one must have a license to sell alcohol. An excise tax is an INDIRECT tax...because as a tax on a privilege, it is avoidable.

A tax on income is a DIRECT tax, and must be apportioned among the States. [The 16th Amendment applies only to "gain from corporate activity", according to Doyle v. Mitchell Brothers, 1918.]

Scott has it right I believe..fear, intimidation and ignorance has kept the IRS in business for way to long..the illegal Fed Income Tax and the thugs that make up the IRS will be held accountable one day for their crimes..and judgement will be swift and furious..same thing for the Federal Reserve Corp. ..They need to be at Club Fed where they can mingle with their brethren the Mafia..We can win but not if we stay dumbed down and afraid,,find your nuts guys and get involved ...If America is not worth dying for than you tell me what are you living for?

I have a question. I am currently involved in a discussion over the internet with a person who INSISTS that the law exists. She has given me the USCS code: Title 26, Subtitle F, Chapter 61, Section 6011 and 6002, as proof of the existence of such a law. As far as I can tell, this code only addresses the fact that we are required to REPORT or FILE a return. It does not lay out the law that says the U.S. has the right to tax individual income exchanged for service or labor.

However, in order to make the point with this woman who is determined that I am wrong, I did go the National Archives and Records Administration website and looked at the copy of the Constitution and its admendments.

This is the copy that is there:

This seems to give the United States the power, however it does not list the actual law that states that they can tax our income. Am I right? Or am I confused.

Also, note that the copy states that the admendment was ratified February 3, 1913. In Aaron Russo's film "American: From Freedom To Facism" the point was made that this ratification was illegal. Am I remembering that correctly?

If this ratification WAS illegal, how can I prove that to the woman I am discussing this with? Is there tangible proof available?

I have my own thoughts and feelings, but I'm being asked to defend them with HARD evidence.
